When I was looking at offers of different universities and faculties, I had a big problem which one to choose. Then I came across European Diplomacy. I thought then that the programme was very interesting and the fact that it was a new field was an additional encouragement for me. The courses in the programme comprise elements of various fields, such as law, international relations, political sciences, economics, which allows students to develop in many different areas, and versatility is really what studying should be all about, isn’t it?

Having decided to study European Diplomacy, I wasn’t fully convinced it had been the right choice. On the one hand, wide-ranging and unprecedented in Poland programme offered by Willy Brandt’s Centre and the Faculty of Social Science of the Wrocław University seemed to meet my expectations in 100 per cent. On the other hand, as it was a newly-established field of study, I couldn’t get the information how it really works in practice, because there were no earlier generations of students on whose experiences one could draw.

I’m very pleased that I chose European Diplomacy, because the programme really corresponds with my interests. The academic staff is excellent: every lecturer is deeply involved in conducting classes. Besides, my fellow-students are extremely interesting people. Another advantage of these studies is a long list of courses with English as the language of tuition. What’s more, we can also take part in different conferences, meetings and debates. To have more opportunities on the job market in the future, I’ve decided to take on another field of study, like many of my friends. European Diplomacy combines nicely with such areas as language and literature studies, law or journalism. |

I am doing my second year at the moment and I must say that, luckily, I belong to the group of students who are satisfied with their choice of studies. There are a lot of things about studying here which really suit me. First – the programme: it comprises a lot of different fields like law, economics, sociology and other sciences. Second – the way the classes are conducted by our lecturers, who, in my opinion, are brilliant people and a lot of them have become authority figures for me.

At the beginning I was intrigued by the very name of this field of study. What also attracted my attention was the great variety of courses the programme offered. I decided to choose European Diplomacy because it has been conceived as a macro-field of study, which means that you can study two or even more areas at the same time. I only had some doubts related to the fact that it was a new field of study, so I wouldn’t know what I could really expect before I actually started studying. Now I am doing my second year and I must admit that I have absolutely no regrets about my choice.
